All About Us

Celebrating 31 years of childcare in the Danforth community, Ms. Miriam's Nursery School and Play Centre Ltd. offers excellence in preschool programs with the most flexible choices available to meet the needs of the family. Since 1979 Ms. Miriam had been offering programs from a nearby location on Pape Ave. In July 2001 the school expanded to its newly renovated childcare facility at 583A Danforth Ave. Toronto.

Since the 70's, Toronto has been making more and more daycares available to children whose parents work on a full time basis. Ms. Miriam, who is an early childhood educator, realized that there was a real shortage of preschool learning options for parents who choose to stay at home with their children or who work part-time in or out of the home. These parents expressed the need for their children to enjoy socializing with their peers in an educationally enriching environment yet did not want their child to attend a daycare 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. On the belief that as many preschool children as possible should have a small, wonderful taste of how much fun socializing and learning can be, the school was founded.

This Nursery School offers support and encouragement to parents who value their need to spend as much quality time as possible with their child(ren), particularly in the early years. We offer a variety of options that support family values, schedules and budgets by providing flexible, enriching preschool experiences. Our centre is licensed to accept children from 2.5 to 5 years old, up to 6 hours a day, staffed by teachers trained in Early Childhood Education and with first aid training.

We welcome children to attend our morning Nursery School program. Parents can choose from 2 to 5 sessions a week which are 3 hours each. Extended hours are available and can be arranged on a flexible basis 24 hours ahead.
